Educational and fun!
Your students will have a fun time learning with the amazing Diperdo! Experience the enjoyment of airplanes that will provide a valuable learning experience at the same time. The Dip-er-do stunt plane loops or circles and returns to you every time! Mike Stone amazed us all years ago with the original Dip-er-do. Now he’s improved his design to make the Dip-er-do’s even more reliable and durable. These small planes come ready to fly. Graphically demonstrate the four forces involved in flight and what happens when the lift is higher than weight. The planes come with adjustable elevators and flaps and cool stickers with which to personalize your plane. National Air & Space Museum in Washington, DC. features these incredible planes! Each kit contains 32 sets of each of the following: Dip-er-do models and decals, instructional booklets, activity sheets on the four forces of flight, and activity sheets on air pressure.
Teach the class the four forces of flight with the amazing Diperdo! Weight, Thrust, Lift, and Drag. Weight is the force of gravity. It acts in a downward direction toward the center of the Earth. Thrust is the force that propels a flying machine in the direction of motion. Engines produce thrust. Lift is the force that acts at a right angle to the direction of motion through the air. Differences in air pressure create lift. Drag is the force that acts opposite to the direction of motion. Friction and differences in air pressure cause drag.
